Gestut Gorlsdorf has announced some of the mares who are set to be covered by Lanwades Stud resident and Gr.1 Deutsches Derby winner Sea The Moon. The son of Sea The Stars’s first progeny have recently turned yearlings.
It announced that three horseboxes containing 23 mares left Germany earlier this year destined for the Newmarket-based stud where the stallion resides. Amongst those set to be covered for the first time include Meergorl (Adlerflug), who won the Gr.2 Diana-Trial at Hoppegarten, as well as Tickle Me Blue (Iffraaj), winner of the Listed Diana-Trial at Baden-Baden. Her dam, Tickle Me Pink (Groom Dancer), sired a colt by Sea The Moon last year,
which has been named Tickle The Moon. Both maiden mares are owned by Gorlsdorf.
Niko Lafrentz from Gorlsdorf Stud commented: “We are very delighted. In all, 42 German mares from a lot of different breeders will visit Sea The Moon this year. More than half of them are black-type winners, performers or both.”
